strategic planning

At a high level, the strategic planning process is quite straightforward.
It usually includes the following

Step 1
Brief assessment phase accomplished through interviews with Executive Leadership
Step 2
A series of on-site or virtual sessions that involve executive leadership that are facilitated by Peter Arezzini. A firm agenda is provided for each session and may involve some “pre-work” by one or more of the participants.
Step 3
Each session accumulates content for the strategic plan document and is captured by the facilitator and utilized in subsequent sessions..
Step 4
Once the sessions are completed, all of the content is distilled and documented in a Strategic Plan document by Peter Arezzini. The document is reviewed and edited by the leadership team and finalized.
Step 5
With a completed plan, the leadership team ensures a communication plan is established and executed. The strategic plan then becomes not only a guidance document but an action-oriented document that is consistently used by the leadership team to ensure continuous execution.
Step 6
A process is established for, at minimum, a quarterly report-out on key initiatives and other actions that were agreed-upon during the planning process.
Step 7
The process generally takes between 3-5 weeks and depends largely on the availability of the leadership team for the facilitated session.
Step 8
Strategic Plans are usually updated annually to refresh the basic elements of the plan and ensure critical areas of the plan are reviewed and edited. This generally takes a few sessions but is much shorter in duration than the original planning process.
